As our Linux Subject Matter Expert, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our Linux servers, OnApp cloud platform, and Xen/KVM virtualisation environment.

You'll also collaborate with other members of the infrastructure team and other stakeholders across the business providing technical support and guidance whilst ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of systems.

Additional Responsibilities include:

• Performing backup and disaster recovery operations for Linux servers and OnApp cloud platform
• Implementing and enforcing security policies and best practices for servers, OnApp cloud platform, and Xen/KVM virtualisation
• Documenting processes and procedures for servers, OnApp cloud platform, and Xen/KVM virtualisation
• Researching and evaluating new technologies and tools related to Linux servers, OnApp cloud platform and other related virtualisation

• Have excellent experience in Linux system administration, OnApp cloud management and Xen/KVM virtualisation
• Have an advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems, such as CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian
• Are proficient in scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, or Perl
• Are familiar with networking protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP, HTTP/S
• Are familiar with web server technologies and applications, such as Apache, Nginx, PHP, MySQL
• Are familiar with security concepts and tools, such as firewalls, encryption, certificates, VPNs, HA Proxy
• Have a solid understanding of file systems as well familiarity with iSCSI, fibre channel, remote and virtualised storage
• Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
